Volunteering at Indus School

RVS Volunteers and Visitors    Administrative Form 491-A Confidentiality/Non-Disclosure Undertaking Volunteers

We are very fortunate to enjoy the help of parent and community volunteers who find themselves able to spend time working here with students and staff, or on projects at home after regular school hours.  School volunteers play a very important role in helping us provide a quality education for all students.  Moms, dads and grandparents are certainly welcome.  Volunteers may be asked to prepare classroom materials, read with students, prepare bulletin boards, photocopy materials, serve hot lunch, help in the library, accompany students on field trips, etc.

All volunteers are required to sign a confidentiality agreement and, as per Administrative Form 491-A Confidentiality/Non-Disclosure Undertaking Volunteers, all volunteers are required to provide a copy of a criminal record check which is good for up to five years if the volunteer completes an annual statutory declaration.  Volunteer drivers must provide proof of insurance and a driver's abstract (available at Alberta Registry offices).

We look forward to working with you in a variety of capacities.  When at the school we ask that all our volunteers “sign in” at the office, letting our staff know who is helping in the school at any given time.

Land Acknowledgment

Rocky View Schools would like to acknowledge the land and recognize all the Indigenous Peoples whose footprints have marked these lands from time immemorial. Together, we can learn and honour the Ways of Knowing of Indigenous Peoples for all future generations.
